This 2-day workshop focuses on the steps necessary to establish and maintain employee personnel records. The participants will learn:

  • How to Establish and Maintain Official Personnel Folders and Medical Folders
  • How to Make Creditable Service Determinations
  • How to Calculate Service Computation Dates
  • Waiting Period and Eligibility Requirements for Probationary Periods and Career Tenure
  • Waiting Period and Eligibility Requirements for Within-Grade Increases
  • The Effect of Time in Non-Pay Status on Health and Life Insurance Benefits
  • How to Properly Determine and Code Retirement System Coverage
  • When an Employee has an Option to Transfer to FERS
  • How to Code Employee Accounts for TSP Eligibility and Status
  • How to Process Correction Actions

This workshop can also be customized to incorporate one additional day of training on the data entry system used in your agency.
